An invoice app for Indian freelancers.
Designer, developer, writer, consultant, photographer - whether you're billing a Bangalore startup in INR or an Upwork client in USD, VioBusiness sends professional invoices on your phone in seconds. No ads. No tier upsells. ₹999 once, lifetime.
i.The Indian freelancer reality
Most Indian freelancers we've spoken to are juggling at least two billing scenarios:
- Domestic clients in INR - Indian companies, startups, agencies. Need a GST-compliant tax invoice with CGST + SGST (intra-state) or IGST (inter-state), GSTIN, HSN/SAC code.
- International clients in USD/GBP/EUR - Upwork, Fiverr, Toptal, direct foreign clients. Often invoiced under LUT (Letter of Undertaking) at 0% GST as export of services.
Some apps handle one well and the other badly. Vyapar is great for domestic but limited on multi-currency. Tally is comprehensive but desktop-first and not designed for ₹999 budgets. Zoho Books is solid but cloud-locked with subscription tiers.
VioBusiness handles both natively: per-invoice currency selection, GST handling that adapts to intra-state/inter-state/export, and a single ₹999 lifetime price.
ii.What you get
- GST-compliant tax invoices. GSTIN, sequential numbering, HSN/SAC codes, CGST+SGST or IGST handling - all on the PDF.
- Multi-currency. Switch per invoice: INR for domestic, USD/GBP/EUR for international clients.
- LUT export support. Set 0% GST for export of services, add the LUT number in the notes field, invoice prints as a zero-rated export.
- Quotes and proposals. Useful for winning new work on Upwork/Fiverr or direct enquiries.
- Contracts. Long-form documents (scope, timeline, terms) for engagements requiring a formal agreement.
- Expense tracking with receipt photos. Track business expenses (software subscriptions, equipment, internet, professional development) for income tax deductions.
- Recurring invoices. Monthly retainers issue automatically.
- 12-month revenue chart. Useful for advance tax estimation under Section 208.
- No ads. No upsells. Ever.
iii.The Upwork / Fiverr / international workflow
If you're earning foreign currency, the typical setup:
- Apply for LUT at the start of each financial year via the GST portal (so you can invoice exports at 0% without paying IGST and claiming refund later).
- Create the international client in VioBusiness as a customer (name + country; their GSTIN isn't applicable).
- Issue the invoice in their currency (USD/GBP/EUR). Set GST to 0%. Add "Exports under LUT - LUT ARN: XXXX-XX-XXXX" in notes.
- Send the PDF to the client (Upwork/direct/email).
- When payment arrives in INR via your bank or Wise, the bank generates a FIRC/e-FIRA. Keep this with the invoice as evidence under FEMA.
- At GST return time, report the export sales under zero-rated supply.
VioBusiness's CSV export gives you the data; your CA handles the actual GSTR-1 / GSTR-3B filings.
