An invoice app for Indian freelancers and small businesses.
Send professional GST invoices in seconds. No ads. No tier-locked features. ₹999 once and yours forever. Built for Indian freelancers billing domestic and international clients, and for small businesses tired of subscription billing software.
i.Built for Indian freelancers and small businesses
If you're a freelance designer in Bengaluru, a consultant in Mumbai, an Upwork seller in Indore, or a small retailer in Surat - VioBusiness is built for the way you actually work. Mobile-first. GST-aware. Multi-currency for international clients. No subscription. No ads cluttering the screen. No notifications nagging you to upgrade to the "Pro Max" tier.
Most Indian invoice apps are either ad-supported (Vyapar, myBillBook), desktop-first (Tally), or aggressively subscription-priced (Zoho, FreshBooks). VioBusiness sits in the gap: a professional mobile app, one fair price, and your business records on your phone where they belong.
ii.Pricing for India
One time. Yours forever.
Unlocks unlimited GST invoices, quotes, contracts, expenses, and customers. All future feature updates included. Sold through Google Play or App Store; we never see your card. Includes GST on the IAP itself (you pay the price you see).
Encrypted automatic backup. Restore on any device. Sync between your phone and tablet. Cancel anytime; the Pro one-time unlock continues working.
5 invoices/month, 5 quotes/month, 10 expenses/month, 50 customers. No ads in this tier either. No signup. No commitment.
iii.GST: what your invoice needs
Under the GST regime, a tax invoice must carry specific fields. VioBusiness includes all of them on every invoice:
- Your business name, address, and GSTIN. Set once in your Business Profile.
- A unique tax invoice number. Sequential, no gaps. VioBusiness numbers them automatically (INV-0001, INV-0002, ...). You can change the prefix in Settings.
- Date of issue.
- Recipient's name, address, and GSTIN (if the recipient is a registered taxpayer). If the recipient is unregistered (B2C), include name and address.
- HSN/SAC code for the goods or services (4-6 digits depending on your turnover threshold).
- Description of goods/services, quantity, and rate.
- Taxable value (subtotal), GST rate, tax amount. Either CGST + SGST (intra-state) or IGST (inter-state).
- Grand total in INR.
- Place of supply for inter-state supplies.
- Signature (digital or physical - VioBusiness leaves space for a signature when you print).
For the full explainer including the difference between CGST/SGST/IGST and how to handle inter-state vs intra-state supplies, see our GST on invoices guide (coming soon).
iv.Domestic and international billing
Many Indian freelancers and small businesses bill in INR for local clients and USD/GBP/EUR for international clients - sometimes both in the same week. VioBusiness handles both natively.
For Indian (domestic) clients
Set currency to INR (default for Indian users). Apply CGST + SGST for intra-state supplies, or IGST for inter-state. The invoice prints with the rupee symbol, GST line items, and total. Your records are tagged in INR.
For international clients
Set currency to USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, CAD, or any of 20+ supported currencies on a per-invoice basis. The PDF renders in the chosen currency. For export of services under the GST framework, you'll typically issue a zero-rated tax invoice with a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) reference - set the GST rate to 0% and add the LUT number in the notes field. See our international invoicing guide (coming soon) for the full mechanics including FIRC/FIRA documentation for bank inward remittance.
v.Alternatives we've thought about
If you're considering VioBusiness, you're probably also looking at:
Vyapar
The most popular Indian invoice/billing app. Feature-rich (POS, inventory, party ledger) but the free tier is ad-supported and the Premium tier has frequent upsell prompts. If you need full inventory management for a retail store, Vyapar may suit you better. If you want a clean, ad-free mobile invoice experience, see our Vyapar vs VioBusiness comparison (coming soon).
Tally / Tally Prime
The default for Indian small business accounting since the 1990s. Desktop-first, complex, ₹18,000 one-time for Silver Edition. If you're already a Tally household and just need a way to invoice on the go, VioBusiness can fill that gap without replacing Tally. See Tally vs VioBusiness (coming soon).
Zoho Invoice / Zoho Books
Solid Indian-built cloud suite. Zoho Invoice is free for small businesses; Zoho Books is subscription-based. The trade-off vs VioBusiness: Zoho needs an account, lives in the cloud, and tries to be a full accounting platform. VioBusiness is a mobile-first invoice tool, your data on your phone, with no signup.
vi.How it works, briefly
Invoices
Tap "New Invoice" → pick a customer (or create one inline with GSTIN) → add line items with HSN codes → set GST rate → tap Send. The tax invoice PDF generates on your phone in seconds. Share over WhatsApp, email, or any app the OS can share to.
Quotes and proposals
Build a quote with the same tools. When the client accepts, convert to an invoice with one tap. Useful for service businesses where the same quote often becomes the invoice with no change.
Expenses
Track business expenses with category, amount, currency, date, and notes. Attach a receipt photo from your phone. Filter by category. Export to CSV at year-end for your CA.
Recurring invoices
Set a monthly retainer once - VioBusiness issues the next invoice automatically when it's due.
Multi-currency
Switch between INR for domestic and USD/GBP/EUR/etc for international, per invoice. Your records keep both the original amount and currency.
