For · US Freelancers

An invoice app built for freelancers, not accountants.

Designers, writers, developers, photographers, marketing consultants - the work is the work; the invoicing should take 30 seconds. VioBusiness is the no-subscription, no-signup mobile-first app for American freelancers tired of paying $20-$70/month for invoice software they barely use.

Built for the way you actually work. Send a clean invoice in three taps. Snap a receipt for an expense. Convert a quote to an invoice with one tap. Year-end CSV export ready for your accountant or TurboTax. $19.99 once, never again.

i.The freelancer reality

If you're freelance in the US, you've probably tried a couple of these:

The problem with the paid options: you use about 10% of what you pay for. The problem with templates: you spend 10 minutes per invoice on something an app should do in 30 seconds.

v.How a freelance month typically looks

A working pattern:

  1. Start of month: Send any recurring retainers (set to auto-issue, you just review).
  2. Daily: Snap photos of receipts as you incur expenses. 5 seconds each.
  3. End of project: Convert the quote you sent at the start to an invoice. Send.
  4. Mid-month: Check the dashboard. Outstanding invoices? Tap one, send a polite reminder.
  5. End of month: Review the month's revenue on the chart. Reconcile against bank deposits.
  6. Quarterly: Export invoice and expense CSVs. Send to accountant for estimated tax filing.
  7. Year-end: Export annual CSVs. Hand to accountant or import into TurboTax Self-Employed.

vi.Frequently asked

Do I need to charge sales tax on my freelance invoices?
Usually no. Most US states don't tax professional services (writing, design, software, consulting). Tangible goods are typically taxable. If you have nexus in a state and you're selling tangible items, charge sales tax. See our sales tax guide.
Can I bill clients in other countries?
Yes - VioBusiness supports 20+ currencies. Bill UK clients in GBP, Canadian in CAD, etc. PDF renders in the chosen currency. Records keep the original currency for your books.
What about Stripe/PayPal/Zelle for payments?
VioBusiness doesn't process payments. You put your payment instructions (Stripe checkout URL, PayPal email, Zelle phone, bank ACH details, Wise) on your Business Profile and they appear on every invoice. Clients pay through your existing channel.
Does it work for TurboTax Self-Employed or H&R Block?
Indirectly. VioBusiness exports CSV. TurboTax and H&R Block don't import VioBusiness directly, but your accountant can use the CSV as the foundation for Schedule C income and expense entry, or you enter the totals yourself.
